The Dubai Metro is a rapid transit rail network in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Red Line and Green Line are operational, with three further lines planned. These first two lines run underground in the city centre and on elevated viaducts elsewhere (elevated railway). All trains are fully automated and driverless, and, together with stations, are airconditioned with platform edge doors to make this possible. The Dubai Metro is the first urban train network in the Arabian Peninsula and the second in the Arab World.
Dubai Metro uses Maximo from its commissioning in 2009 as its enterprise asset management system to maintain the Rolling stocks, Civils and Communication equipment of RTA Metro. Over half a million assets are managed in Maximo.
Maximo is being used to track location and asset hierarchy of Metro Rail Stations, Depots, Rail Infrastructures, Tracks, Via Ducts, Tunnels and Rolling Stock to manage all types of maintenance of the rail, infrastructure and facilities assets. Manage systems and sub systems with Rail maintenance and Operations departments. Procurement of maintenance and operations related assets, spares and services also being manged in IBM Maximo with automated procurement cycle from PR to RFQ to PO, receipt and invoices.
